As Colin grew, he would develop a liking for electronics, he was more of a user of these devices than a creator, this was because he had a huge lack of social skills. Soon, for every friendship he might be able to conger up, he always resorted to being a traitor in order to optimize the advantages he could get out of the relationship. It didn't take long for him to be known as a "bad apple", thus no one that came around him trusted him, and no one would befriend him.
When Colin became a teenager, he'd done something so horrible that he pushed his father past his breaking point. Therefore, Colin - now wearing the derisive nickname his father had given him, was kicked out of his own home. Nowhere else to go, he turned to his uncle, Julian.
Having earned the right to
become Warlord of the Kingdom of Acorn, Julian would scheme with Snively.
Their crazy/evil plans were to take over the Kingdom, and eventually, the
entire planet. After assisting his uncle in this huge feat, he found
himself being treated no better than he was at home, almost
worse. All Snively wanted was respect, and he didn't receive any. The
prior owner of the rank Snively was in, belonged to a small red robot
named crabmeat. That just shows you how lowly Snively was, and what his
uncle thought of him. Snively began creating plans of his own to rid
himself of one of his last living family members.
When Snively had seen the Ultimate Nullifier, a device created by Robotnik to help destroy Sonic, he decided that this was the opportune moment. Snively rigged it so that it would only affect His uncle, Dr. Robotnik. Once this happened, his uncle was literally toasted. A huge beam of light shot through both Sonic and Robotnik, but due to Snively's adjustments, it only killed his uncle. His victory was short lived, however, because the freedom fighters soon captured him, and sentenced him to a prison called The Devil's Gulag on an Island for all of his crimes.
Snively regained his freedom a while later when an unknown helper freed him, along with several other prisoners. He later found out that the person who helped him was, in fact, Eggman: a newer, more evil version of Dr. Robotnik. Snively agreed to help him, only because he was promised revenge on the man that had carelessly neglected him, and his intellect, his father. Snively went along with this new Dr.'s plans, ultimately, though, this resulted in his own roboticization.
