Initially, she was born into a family of a noble heritage in the Kingdom on Snottingham. Her parents, being compassionate and understanding, agreed to give their vast wealth to the poor and sick. They soon later fell victim to the evil Agent of Robotnik: General D'Coolette, Antoine's Father. When this happened, Amy's father's Brother, AKA Rob O' the Hedgehog, took her and cared for her during her time of great anguish.
Because of Rob's connections to Royalty throughout the many kingdoms of Mobius, it was decided that Amy's new home would be the Acorn Kingdom. Once she made it to Knothole Village, after the long weeks it took to get there, it didn't take her long to settle in. She quickly became friends with Tails, and found it to be very frustrating not to go on Adventures with the freedom fighters. This was a problem Tails could understand too, because they both were too young to venture out into danger, and he was sometimes not permitted to go.
When the freedom fighters went to explore the city of the overlanders (Station Square), they once again refused to let her tag along, on account of her age. While pointing out that Tails was her age, and he was going, they argued that he had experience with these types of dangers. Upset, Amy took matters into her own hands, and exploited the power of one of the power rings to speed up the aging process. Now, physically, if not mentally, she was a 16-year-old teenager.
From then on, The freedom fighters halfheartedly allowed Amy to join them on many Adventures. But, for her intentions of Marrying Sonic, she tries to keep that hidden from the others. Hoping that someday, she'll be able to win the heart of her hero.
